About the event
Pierre Picard, a member of the Huron-Wendat Nation, has devoted over three decades to advocating for Indigenous communities in Quebec. His professional journey began as a psychosocial interventionist, during which he worked closely with various First Nations communities. In 1992, he was elected as the regional chief of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL) and has been serving in this role since.
In recognition of his significant contributions, Pierre Picard received the prestigious Médaille Premiers Peuples – Premières Nations in 2022, presented by the Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec. On October 25th, 2024 has was elected as the Grand Chef of the Nation Wendat, where he aims to promote the identity, culture, and rights of the Wendat people.
