About the event
Join us for a historic presentation with Dr. Philip Jaffé as we commemorate 100 years since the Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Child was signed at the League of Nations on February 28, 1924. This pivotal document marked the first global commitment to children’s rights, setting a powerful precedent for protecting young lives and fostering their well-being. In tribute to this legacy, Dr. Jaffé is leading an ambitious project to renew this Declaration for the 21st century.
In collaboration with multiple NGOs and the City of Geneva, the renewed Geneva Declaration for Children’s Rights (2024) honors the spirit of Eglantyne Jebb, the visionary behind the 1924 Declaration, while addressing today’s pressing challenges—from digital safety to the right to education and healthcare. This updated Declaration reaffirms the global commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of children in an ever-changing world.
