Eliott Arseneault
Leader at the Observatory on Human Rights at the UN
Originally from Mont-Laurier in Quebec’s Hautes-Laurentides region, Eliott is a third-year law student at the University of Ottawa. He is actively involved in faculty life, serving as President of the Debate Committee and as an Advisor to the Constitutional Law Students’ Association. In his role as President of the Debate Committee, he leads a team of nine highly motivated students and oversees the organization of various public speaking and advocacy competitions for the student community.
Eliott has also held several notable positions, including serving as a Page at the Senate of Canada, Special Assistant in the Office of the Usher of the Black Rod, and Interpreter Guide at the Parliament of Canada. He is proud to be completing his articling with Stikeman Elliott in Montreal. This year, he will further develop his advocacy and oral advocacy skills through his participation in the Laskin Moot.
His interest in international law and human rights first emerged through a human rights course he completed prior to beginning his law studies. In 2025, he participated in the 24th Conference of the International Observatory on Participatory Democracy in Córdoba, Argentina.
He is excited to join a group of inspiring leaders committed to advancing the law through collaboration, dialogue, and meaningful engagement.
