Thomas J. Di Re

Thomas Joseph Di Re is a third-year civil law student at the University of Ottawa. His involvement within the student community includes serving as President of the Fédération des étudiants en droit du Québec (FEDQ) and as Vice-President of Interfaculty Partnerships for the Civil Law Students’ Association (AED).
Thomas is passionate about human rights, international law, and sports and entertainment law. As a neurodivergent individual himself, he is deeply committed to promoting inclusion and accessibility in education for neurodivergent students. Through the Human Rights Observatory at the UN (2025–2026), he co-created the Canadian Charter on Neurodiversity alongside his colleagues Mélodie Villeneuve Ferreira and Charles-Antoine Hallé. This normative framework seeks to address existing legal gaps in order to better protect the fundamental rights of neurodivergent individuals across Canada.
Alongside his research work, Thomas also co-founded Neuromentor with Mélodie, an innovative mentorship program at the University of Ottawa dedicated to supporting the academic success and inclusion of neurodivergent students entering the legal field.
