About the event

In this session, Dr. Markus Gehring will guide students through a reflective exploration of ethical leadership in the legal profession. Drawing on his expertise in international trade, environmental law, and public policy, he will examine the tensions between legal norms, political pressures, and moral clarity.

Students will reflect on how leaders navigate systems that may not align with their values, and consider the role of self-awareness and ethical responsibility in leadership. Through real-world examples, they will explore how integrity can be preserved in the face of power, politics, and systemic challenges—and how personal values can guide leaders in driving meaningful, long-term change.
