Mélissa Perron

Author

Mélissa Perron is an author, screenwriter, speaker, and leading advocate for awareness of autism in women. Since 2019, she has published four novels and two graphic memoirs, all of which have become bestselling works. Through a rich and nuanced body of literature, she explores profound, moving, and often overlooked themes. She also wrote the screenplay adaptation of her debut novel, *Promets-moi un printemps*.

Diagnosed as autistic at the age of 38, this discovery marked a profound turning point in both her personal life and her public engagement. Since then, she has dedicated her voice and creative work to raising awareness of autism and challenging common misconceptions surrounding autistic women. Through her speaking engagements and public advocacy, she demonstrates that autistic women can be mothers, entrepreneurs, articulate professionals, and accomplished leaders, while also shedding light on the often invisible challenges and emotional realities of living with a neurotype that remains widely misunderstood.

In recognition of her outstanding public engagement and advocacy, Mélissa received the Michel-Francoeur Award from the Fédération québécoise de l'autisme. She is an active speaker who regularly delivers lectures and workshops at universities, high schools, and organizations, promoting inclusion, empathy, and a deeper understanding of neurodiversity.
