Me Louise Cordeau, C.Q.

After practising law, Louise Cordeau served as Chief of Staff to the President of the National Assembly of Quebec and later to the Minister responsible for Canadian Intergovernmental Affairs. She subsequently held senior leadership positions as Director of Radio-Canada in Quebec City and as Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of the Journal de Québec. In 2017, she was appointed by the Quebec Council of Ministers as President of the Conseil du statut de la femme.

Throughout her career, Louise Cordeau has distinguished herself through numerous initiatives, including mentoring young professionals, helping establish a primary school, and creating Québec ville en rose. She is an Executive-in-Residence at the École nationale d’administration publique and Vice-President of the National Order of Quebec.

Among her many distinctions, she received the Medal of the Quebec Bar Council in recognition of the values of justice, rigour, and vision for Quebec society that have shaped her career, as well as her social and philanthropic engagement. She was named a Knight of the French National Order of Merit and of the National Order of Quebec, and was appointed a Knight of the French Legion of Honour.

She now brings Quebec’s values of equality to the international stage. In 2025, she was recognized as a Distinguished Alumna of Université Laval as part of the Les Remarquables 2025 awards.
