Laurence Laperriere

Head of Strategic Communications and Marketing

Laurence is a recent civil law graduate from the University of Ottawa and a former Leader at the Human Rights Observatory at the United Nations. Passionate about human rights, social justice, and communications, she now leads the Observatory’s strategic communications and marketing initiatives.

Throughout her academic journey, Laurence was deeply involved in student life. She served as Vice-President of Communications for the Civil Law Students’ Association (AED), where she helped promote and enhance the visibility of numerous student and faculty initiatives. She also played an active role in organizing the second edition of the Fauteux Fashion Show, an event combining fashion, community engagement, and social awareness in support of the Canadian Women’s Foundation.

Laurence is the recipient of the Grand Maillet, one of the Faculty of Law’s highest student distinctions, recognizing her outstanding contribution to the faculty community and student life. She also received the Sonia Agougou Leadership Scholarship, which recognizes exceptional leadership and community engagement. Known for her creativity, strong organizational skills, and ability to bring people together around meaningful initiatives, Laurence aspires to create a concrete, human-centered, and accessible impact through both law and communications.
