Dr. Amir Georges Sabongui

Psychologist, author, international keynote speaker, and retired Lieutenant-Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy

Dr. Amir Georges Sabongui is a psychologist, author, international keynote speaker, and retired Lieutenant-Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy. With more than 30 years of clinical, organizational, and military experience, his work brings together psychology, neuroscience, leadership, resilience, and crisis management.

Since 1994, Dr. Sabongui has maintained a clinical practice while providing consulting services to organizations worldwide. He has developed and implemented leadership, mental health, crisis-response, and organizational development programs and has delivered thousands of workshops and keynote presentations to more than one million participants internationally.

Dr. Sabongui also served for 14 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, attaining the rank of Lieutenant-Commander. During his military career, he commanded warships, directed search-and-rescue and emergency-response operations, and participated in international operations for Canada and NATO. He also led a national task force involved in establishing anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies and programs within the Canadian Armed Forces.

He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Concordia University, where his doctoral research focused on performance, mental health, and resilience in military settings. Conducted in collaboration with the Canadian Armed Forces, his research contributed to the development of mental health and resilience training for teams operating under extreme conditions.

Today, Dr. Sabongui’s work focuses particularly on mental health, resilience, positive leadership, crisis management, and organizational transformation, combining scientific research with extensive clinical and operational experience.
