Dorothy Rhau

Dorothy Rhau is a social entrepreneur, speaker, and the founder and CEO of Audace au Féminin, an organization dedicated to strengthening the leadership, economic empowerment, and civic participation of women and Afro-descendant communities.

Since 2018, she has developed initiatives that build bridges between historically underrepresented communities and economic, institutional, academic, and political spheres. Her work focuses in particular on issues of representation, access to decision-making networks, leadership, and participation in economic and civic life.

As the first Black francophone female comedian in Quebec and Canada, Dorothy Rhau has also used art and public speaking as platforms for representation and social change. She is notably the founder of the International Black Women’s Expo (Salon international de la femme noire) and Tétons Ben Drôles, an inclusive breast cancer awareness campaign aimed at Black and racialized women. These achievements are also highlighted in her official profile published by the National Assembly of Quebec.

In 2026, she became the first recipient of the Prix Femme engagée awarded by the National Assembly of Quebec in the 36-and-over category, in recognition of her contribution to the economic, social, and civic inclusion of Afro-descendant women.

Throughout her career, Dorothy Rhau has taken a particular interest in the conditions that make it possible to transform representation into access, access into participation, and participation into a genuine capacity to influence.
